(NewsNation) — New York State Attorney General Letitia James is due to speak about the status of the case against President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 26 for his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

While Trump could pardon himself in the federal crimes of which he’s accused, he has no power to pardon himself on the conviction in New York, nor the 2020-related crimes he faces in Georgia.

When will House results come out?

In September, a federal judge swiftly rejected Trump’s request to move the case to federal court so that he could seek to have his conviction overturned in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s presidential immunity ruling.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein said the defense failed to meet the high burden of proof for changing jurisdiction and that Trump’s conviction for falsifying business records involved his personal life, not official actions that the Supreme Court ruled are immune from prosecution.
