WALKER, Mich. (NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump was expected to hold a campaign rally in Walker, Michigan on Friday to pitch his economic agenda to voters in the battleground state.

With polls showing Vice President Kamala Harris with a razor-thin lead in the state, Trump is holding two events on Friday.

Trump’s first stop on Friday is at 2 p.m. at FALK, a manufacturing company. From there he’ll head to Warren for a scheduled town hall at Macomb Community College in Warren at 6 p.m.

Trump has criticized Harris for quietly backing away from strict electric vehicle mandates she supported when she was running for president back in 2019.

The Harris campaign, however, suggests Trump’s policies were disastrous for the economy and Michigan’s auto industry, claiming Trump lost nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs.

NewsNation affiliate DecisionDesk HQ shows Harris with a 48.8% lead to Trump’s 47.7% in Michgan.
