(NewsNation) — Political commentator Bill O’Reilly said Monday it’s “unusual” that both the Kamala Harris and Donald Trump campaigns believe they will win the 2024 presidential election based on internal polling.

O’Reilly contrasted this with the 2016 election, where he said the Clinton campaign was confident of a landslide victory, while many in the Trump campaign thought they would lose.

“Both campaigns, at this point, with six weeks left, believe they’re going to win,” O’Reilly said on NewsNation’s “On Balance.” “That’s unusual.”

O’Reilly cited internal polling from firms like Trafalgar and Rasmussen as the basis for the Trump campaign’s optimism. He did not specify the source of the Harris campaign’s confidence.

The former Fox News host also revealed that both the former president and vice president have agreed to separate interviews with CBS’s “60 Minutes.”

Regarding recent campaign rhetoric, O’Reilly defended Trump’s comments about Jewish voters and women’s dissatisfaction, saying Trump was citing polls and describing “common psychology.”
