(NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris’ Thursday interview on CNN as “boring,” saying the Democratic presidential nominee doesn’t look like a leader.
The Republican presidential nominee also criticized his opponent for having the interview, which aired in the evening, pretaped in the afternoon.
“We’re doing it live. Why are we doing it live? And she’s doing it taped,” Trump said at a rally Thursday evening in Michigan. “She was sitting behind that desk, this massive desk, and she didn’t look like a leader to me.”
During the interview, Harris was joined by her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and was asked about changes in her policies during the years. These include her reversals on fracking and decriminalizing illegal border crossings.
“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told CNN’s Dana Bash.

Trump says he wants to make IVF free
In Michigan, Trump said he wants to make IVF treatments free if he becomes president, though he did not offer details on how the plan would be funded or how it would work.
“I’m announcing today in a major statement that under the Trump administration, your government will pay for — or your insurance company will be mandated to pay for — all costs associated with IVF treatment,” he said. “Because we want more babies, to put it nicely.”
IVF treatments can cost tens of thousands of dollars for a single round, and many require multiple for it to work. Even then, there is no guarantee of success, and fertility treatments are not covered by many health insurance plans.
On Friday, Trump will be in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state that he won in 2016 but lost in 2020. It’s one of a handful of Northeastern and Midwestern industrial states that have been crucial in the last two presidential elections.
