Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.35%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.35%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG), which rose 8.38% or 1.39 points to trade at 17.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 4.24% or 1.96 points to end at 48.20 and Anadolu Anonim Turk Sigorta Sti (IS:ANSGR) was up 4.06% or 4.10 points to 105.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES), which fell 9.98% or 23.60 points to trade at 212.80 at the close. AG Anadolu Group Holding (IS:AGHOL) declined 9.95% or 37.75 points to end at 341.75 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was down 3.82% or 2.00 points to 50.35.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 284 to 274 and 26 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.70% or 18.34 to $2,613.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.99% or 0.70 to hit $71.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.55 to trade at $74.34 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.77% to 35.34, while EUR/TRY rose 0.41% to 36.72.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 108.04.
