Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) PAC donated $2.5 million in October to a super political action committee (Super PAC), backing Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

Cheney’s Super PAC, Our Great Task, gave the money to American Bridge 21st Century (AB PAC), one of the Democratic party’s top opposition research organizations on Oct. 8, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports filed Thursday.

AB PAC has gone after former President Donald Trump, Harris’s rival, this year, targeting him with negative ads on abortion and the events of Jan. 6, 2021. Cheney’s PAC, formed in March of this year, took subtle shots at the Republican nominee in June with a D-Day-themed ad.

“America deserves a president as good and steadfast as our nation, a president of character, driven by a noble purpose, one who honors the sacrifices of our troops,” Cheney said in the ad. “Not a man consumed by spite, revenge and self-pity,”

Cheney, a vocal critic of Trump, said in early September she would be voting for the Democratic nominee, arguing that “as a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”

Harris has recently attempted to court members of the GOP who feel disaffected by the current party’s outlook dominated by Trump. Cheney, the former No. 3 House Republican, campaigned for Harris earlier in October and did so this week, hoping to turn some suburban voters in battleground states.

Our Great Task entered October with $4.7 million cash on hand, according to the latest FEC filings. The organization spent over $2.7 million so far in October and was left with over $2 million cash-on-hand, the reports showed. Cheney’s PAC has been paying into and getting donations through a Democratic fundraising platform, ActBlue, according to FEC reports.
