One-on-one with Mississippi’s candidates in 2024 US Senate race

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and his Democratic opponent, Ty Pinkins, spoke to WJTV 12 News ahead of the November General Election.

Wicker, a Pontotoc native, has been serving Mississippi in the U.S. Senate since 2007. The Republican has championed pro-growth policies and limited federal overreach, while working to maintain a strong national defense.


Mississippi policy summit focuses on tax reform

Pinkins, a native of Rolling Fork, is a civil rights attorney, as well as a retired U.S. Army officer and combat veteran. His campaign emphasizes service, leadership and a commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents.

WJTV 12 News spoke to both candidates about FEMA’s response to the recent hurricanes, the Middle East, the economy, immigration, the Southern border and healthcare.
